Name:   Robert son of Oakman (Ukeman) the Blunt, Forester of Knaresborough Forest and Senechal (Steward) of Plumpton Manor (Goldsborough/Knaresborough).

Born Circa 1172 in Loxley Hamlet, Plumpton Park

Forester in Knaresborough Forest, involved in the affair of the rescue of the sweetheart of Gilbert de Plumpton  (Alan a dale) in 1184, whose life was spared on the feast day of Mary Magdalene whom Robin Hood reveres.

Married Matilda (Maud) daughter of Alexander. Son William 

Brother in Law of William of Goldsborough (named in the 1247 Kirklees Cross-slab), his sister Avice/Alice and sister Agnes and Sigerith.

Nephews Uttling, William, Thomas , Simon and Hugh

Outlawed by King John and Brian D'Isle as a yeoman of the Plumptons and Percies for supporting Magna Carta in 1215

Accused of Robbery in 1219 with nephew Uttling

Hunted by the Sherriff of Yorkshire and Nottingham Eustace of Lowdham as Robert of Wteherby in 1225 in a manhunt he eludes death by killing Guy of Gisburn whose body is exhibited at Wetherby Castle

Pardoned by King Henry III and lands restored in 1227

Died after 1230 

Buried at Kirklees (or Kirkby) 1247 with commerations for his nephew William of Goldsborough and Thomas.
